Inspired by the ancient tradition of Kantha cloths of Bangladesh and West Bengal, we thought can we recycle the already recycled?
The name kantha itself derives from the Sanskrit word for ‘rags’, a reminder of the materials from which each kantha blanket is made. Constructed from layers of old, discarded saris and dhotis, held together through intricate rows of running stitch. Embroidered stitches unite the multiple layers of salvaged cotton.
