40 Year Old T-Shirts, Brought Back To Life

For most brands, a t-shirt is usually the first thing they make.

For us, it took a few years.

We always wanted to do one, but only if we could do it properly and in a way that actually felt like Patina. Printing onto brand new blanks never really made sense to us. The whole idea behind the brand has always been about reusing existing materials and giving old things a second life.

Eventually we came across a warehouse full of genuine deadstock Screen Stars t-shirts from the late 1980s. Original made in USA blanks that had been sitting untouched for nearly 40 years.

The feel of them is what really sold it for us. Soft, lightweight and properly worn-in in a way modern t-shirts never really are. The sort of thing people spend years trying to recreate.

Rather than leaving them sitting in boxes for another few decades, we wanted to bring them back into use.

Each t-shirt is finished with custom hand-drawn artwork by Tony Moore, tying into the wider idea behind Patina and making use of something that already existed instead of creating more from scratch.

Quantities are naturally limited and once these blanks are gone, they’re gone.
