Introducing Kantha 001 – an exclusive collection of 80 one-of-a-kind jackets, born from antique Kantha blankets. Kantha, an ancient tradition of recycling, inspired us to take this remarkable material in a fresh direction.
Derived from the Sanskrit word for 'rags,' Kantha blankets tell a story of resilience, crafted from layers of discarded saris and dhotis, held together with intricate running stitches. With our jackets, we honour this heritage by giving new life to these repurposed textiles.
The main exterior & collar of the jacket is made from 100% repurposed and recycled used materials. The material is antique Kantha blankets sourced from India.
For some aspects of the Kantha Jackets it was not possible to use recycled components.
The zip is new - at present we have not found a way of using recycled zips due to sizing issues.
